8th Annual Survey of Long Term Care Facilities

The Office of Nursing Workforce (ONW) administers, analyzes and evaluates statewide nursing supply and demand data on an annual basis. ONW attempts to capture data in multiple nursing service settings through surveys developed for specific healthcare settings. These surveys are conducted concurrently with the Mississippi State Department of Health Division of Licensure and Certification surveys. The goal of this work is to successfully provide employers, educators and healthcare planners with accurate data regarding the current and future nursing needs throughout Mississippi. Results are typically used to inform the policy making and planning processes at local, regional, and state levels.

All data is reported in aggregate form and no healthcare facility will be identified by name or specific location. The data will be published in the annual Mississippi State Health Plan and is useful for health care policy and planning. ONW’s contribution to the State Health Plan and other data are now available on this website.

The survey should be completed by whomever in the Long Term Care Facility who is the most able to provide the correct information (i.e., Human Resources, Nursing Administration). Particular attention should be paid to the section on your organization’s predicted future nursing needs. Please return the completed form by February 11, 2008 to:
